Located on the banks of the Breede River near Malgas, 45 km from Swellendam. Access is via a 40 km gravel road from the main highway. Not ideal for low profile cars. The Hoop Nature Reserve is close. Nearby attractions include a local vineyard 5 minutes away.

I found the thoughtful touches, such as the provided drinking water and dishwashing powder, and the readily available firewood, contributed to a truly effortless stay. The accessible kayaks and the well-maintained, thick grass made for easy enjoyment of the riverside, solidifying Tides River Lodge as a destination I'd readily revisit.”
